Evidently, I may not have torqued the front caliper bracket to the front knuckle - somehow, the top bolt got loose and the remaining bottom bolt/nut combination was also loose. The top one was severe and ate the brake disc even though I had the car got on the lift in less than 1 mile since the horrendous noise let me know there was something amiss.
The manual on page 5-27 calls for the Caliper Mounting Bolt torque spec to 70ft.lbs and the Caliper Housing Bolt (front brakes) to 130 ft.lbs. Is the caliper housing the same as the caliper bracket shown below? Does the 130ft.lbs spec apply to both bolts (the top larger one and the bottom smaller one)? The brakes are fresh and have not had hardly any miles so I screwed up somewhere....
I forget the torque for the individual mounting bolts, but the 130 ft/lbs is for the bolts that hold the two halves of the caliper together. Not anything you have in your pictures.
