I lost one Parking Brake shoe retaining pin....does either:
a) Someone have one they can stick in an envelope? I will give you $20
b) Know where I can get just the pin. The vendors sell everything alone except for that of course.
I don't want to buy a while $70 hardware kit to get one .75 pin.
I might have one. I can check my parts stash. Otherwise if you have the dimensions I would think a generic drum brake retaining pin would do the trick.
That does! I will order it in the morning....!!!!
Thank you...I have never heard of these guys....and would have never have searched for "anchor"
Thank You!!!
Jebby
Jebby,
When you get it, will you post the overall length and head diameter? I've searched all over for this info and not come up with anything. These things have to be standard parts used in a host of other vehicles.
Thanks,

Thanks,
I have one whole kit to do one parking brake assembly with two pins, two springs and retaining clips. If you look on Amazon you can find a whole kit for both wheels for about $27. TBD on quality vs. $70 parts off one of the usual vendor websites, but seemed to do the job so far. You never know when you'll break another pin or lose it and need another one and then maybe even the clips and springs too.
Every new ss parking brake kit I have purchased for at least the past 26 years I had to fit the parts- pins, Star wheels, levers all require better fitting than they are out of bag. It doesn’t matter which supplier is used they are mass produced parts and they have potential fitment issues with them.
just a FYI
I probably have some used pins I can send you one if you want
Can you throw a couple in a bag and send them? It is going to take forever for that West Coast place to send them....I will flip you some beer money....👍
Gary, would you provide the overall length, shaft diameter, and head diameter?
If I remember I will, the ones I pulled are already packaged up and going out tomorrow. There are some differences in the SS parking brake parts sold the past 20 years. The pin heads were one, look at my pictures and you can see one is an arrowhead and one rounded. That makes no difference, but some were thinner than others. They are punched out and not square as they should be.
FWIW I had the same problems with my 78 awhile ago and had everything replaced and adjusted with my parking brake system and it still would not hold on any incline or decline angle so now I just park it in PARK!!!!..
And yes mine is an automatic tranny....................
Just my 2 cents!!
