Has anyone installed classic cars corvette soundbar. I received one for Xmas and it does
fit. The hinge for the window tray is in the way. When I called ccs. They told me the never heard of it not fitting. Has anyone had this problem and what did you do. I hate to have to return this thing. I have a 1972 coupe. Thanks in advance.
It looks like Classic Car Stereo is selling the Custom Autosound bar as their own. I have one, and had no issues installing it in my ‘76. Obviously I don’t have the rear window compartment, so it’s definitely different. Here’s an article about installing it. Where exactly is it hitting?

the spearkers hit the hinges for the r3ar window tray. Cas says they never had that problem. Meanwhile I’m finding it all over the internet.
I bought one for my 77. Its chessy.... you have to crank the head unit all the way up to hear anything. If you have an exhaust on your car, you might not even hear it.
I think Joey has stereo trouble. I have one in my 77. Sounds pretty good, not great maybe, but pretty good.
I run open chambered exhaust. No mufflers. I wake the dead. I never have to turn the head unit way up. Makes plenty of sound.
No issues with fitment, but I wanted mine up high so I screwed it to the back wall.
The '73 I got recently had one of those in it. Previous owner replaced the storage doors with a wood plank that had an 8" subwoofer mounted to it. I didn't like the sound at all, but I'm used to high-end stereo equipment.
Without the subwoofer, the little speakers in the soundbar won't have much bass at all. I would look into at least some kind of small subwoofer to go with that soundbar.
I ended up finding the car had a top-of-the-line Kenwood 800W amp under the passenger seat! Way overkill for that soundbar so I'm working on a different speaker set up.

I have installed the soundbar in my 69 coupe which does have the window tray. The tray does hit the soundbar when dropped down but not enough to prevent me from putting the glass in. That said I put the glass in the tray when I take the car out in the spring and usually don’t take it out until the winter when I put the car in storage. I used a couple screws to secure it to the back wall and I trimmed the center peice so the cargo light was not covered. See attached pic. One note - make sure not to use screws that are too long as the fuel tank is directly behind the back wall. There is about 1” of clearance between the back wall and fuel tank.
