78 Air Snorkle problems
Hi
First time on here hope im in the appropriate forum. I bought a air snorkel for my 78 vet. It was advertised as 78 L48 which is what i have.
Problem is the screws dont reach the holes on frame. Also the holes on frame seem larger.
Im beginning to realise i bought the wrong snorkel. Im a beginner and only bought because of the description advertise is matching what i have.
Just wanted to confirm
1. Is the snorkel correct for 78 vet
2. If so am I missing something on the frame that it supposed screw in to
Using your upper photo there should be a part number in the upper right corner of the part...
There were multiple part numbers used, for example My 77 the part number is 379974 but I have a spare that fits just fine with a part number 368683 and the 53-82 Corvette Parts & Illustration Catalog has 368684...
These are all 77-79 L48 part numbers...
Here are some photos...
From the CP&IC and 1977 Assembly Manual Notice the numbers I circled in red, those are the mounting screws & what they call U-Nuts

OK Finally installed the snorkel correctly. Mistake I was doing was not placing it between the mounting bar. Thanks heaps bmotojoe saftey car the diagrams helped
