Default Ignition Switch

I have a 74 vette, L48 350 block, has an ignition issue. I have replaced wires, plugs, cap, rotor and ensured 12v is getting to coil, even replaced coil which wasn't the problem. I believe the issue is the ignition switch but having trouble getting to it. Trying to lower the steering column to remove it but the column won't drop far enough. I loosened the column bolts in the firewall and removed the bolts from bottom of the dashboard. What am I missing?

What's the specific issue? (More details the better.)
Is this a new problem -- any changes just before the problem?
How stock is your distributor and carb?

Just a thought, if your getting 12V. to the coil. How can it be the ign.switch?

The ignition key employs a rod ( runs down the steering column ) that moves positions on a switch. Have you adjusted or made sure that when the key is turned the rods moves the switch?
