I would be interested in a couple of things. How would you "inspect' this, It is worth something, but a hood is $1000 at least and there is no way to know if the drive line is any good. It is "bag o parts", is it worth $14K?? What cha think??
Hello FSD,
You might consider this to be a GIANT model car......with no instruction sheet.
The ONLY + is that some of the car's apart.
That's the easiest / fastest / cheapest part of a restoration.
Are the fasteners identified in any way?
It ALL still needs to be restored and reassembled.
$5000 ?????
Regards,,,,,

That is what I am thinking too. It MIGHT have all the parts, or...... It might have a good engine or...... It seems to be a LS5 - that is good, but no hood and those black coves - repaint needed....

Way over priced & uncertain about the total mess scenario until you check it out in person ( could be a WORTHLESS rust bucket underneath ) By the time you get the engine running, paint it, replace worn parts, hood, ( not easy to find ) deck lid & restore or purchase the other missing parts, you might as well buy one that's done / ready to drive for a lot less money & headaches.
This is almost comical... "All the parts are organized in boxes"...look at the pic and tell me what looks organized... It's an automatic...if it even has a trans.... even at 5K you will be upside down unless you can do all the work yourself including paint and engine rebuild, total interior including dash, brakes, tires/wheels, electrical, top, exhaust... this is exhausting....
The best part is he has it listed as excellent condition.. yup I would believe everything he had to say...nope
How do you lose a hood? Once a replacement hood and deck lid are installed, the whole car would need to be repainted to make sure everything color-matches.
If they lost the hood and deck lid, what small parts did they lose?
This is a basket case in the truest sense.
As a veteran in the car business for 50 years my first thought is that this one is way over priced, a car this far part would take thousands of dollars and more man hours to put it togetther than it would be worth in my opinion.
As the others have said NO. Way over priced for what after a careful inspection is a bottomless money pit.
There are projects out there for less money that are much more complete and will see the road a lot sooner.
Thank you Thank you. I think I got a little too excited, and these posts kind of bring me back down to reality. I the comment about ending up paying too much, taking too long, working too hard - all good points. Also the idea of buying a good solid car, and enjoying that rather than buying a money pit hits home. All good points. Thank you all!!!
I maybe look at it a little differently. It looks like it was a complete car someone took apart for restoration. Missing hood and deck a problem, but it's possible the rest is there.
I would investigate the engine. Looks to be numbers matching. Mike Kuhl badge on it. Was it raced? Did seller say engine was good? Transmission there and matching?
It would take some studying to see how much of it is still there and original. You'd have to be willing to take on a huge, expensive project to get it back together but that's what some people want to do. Would be a nice car in the end. If you want that kind of project, try to make the point to seller what a huge, expensive project it will be. If it's numbers matching and nearly complete, try to get if for under $10K. Just one opinion without seeing it.

That's the issue here -- there's no way to tell how complete it is in the jumble of broken down cardboard boxes and piles of stuff. Out of curiosity, I looked for the radiator, support, and shroud and didn't spot any of these large items — probably sitting next to the hood and deck lid. It's one of those purchases that has to be at rock-bottom pricing, because you won't know what's missing until you go looking for that specific item.
This one is not an easy, straight forward assembly project; it would require a buyer with pretty deep pockets at the outset.
