Default 1972 console front bracket.

1972 console front bracket my car doesn't seem to have one. The gauge part was connected to the console. In the AIM it shows a front bracket. Any pictures would be appreciated.

Is this the part that you are looking for? If it is Zip has them. Part number I-1194.

Thats the piece. What does it attach to the lower one riveted to the tunnel?

The piece fastens to the inside of the front lip of the console and then gets fastened to the two metal pieces attached to the transmission tunnel.

As I recall, that bracket isn't really a separate piece from the console once the car left St. Louis. I believe it was riveted to the console on the assembly line — are you sure it's not on the underside? Without it being there, I'd think the console sides would splay out pretty severely once all the weight of the gauge cluster was on top of it.
