Default Engine wire harness What do I have??

I picked up some wire harness and Lectric limited was no help

This is an engine bay harness I think is for after 1968 auto
if you notice it has this orange plug which I know 68 to 71 corvette doesn’t have

any help is appreciated to get a description of what it is for
it looks to be an original harness with the tag 9837
thanks
grant

Is the orange “plug” you refer to is the orange connector, then I suspect you have a harness that has been modified to suit some non-stock application. The white wrapping is also non-stock.

The orange connector is actually stock looking, correct pins inside
The white wrapping is also stock and have seen them on some other harnsses

Just trying to figure out what it belongs to? appreciate your input

Thanks, Grant

If that is a Brown wire (Brown Connector) next to the Pink wire with (White Connector) I believe it would be for a 75.
75 was first year for electronic tachometer...
