Hello! I’m doing some work on my Corvette, so it’s parked in the garage until that’s done. In the meantime, I need to transport a hardtop I bought about 20 miles. Since I can’t just install it on my car to move it, I am wondering if anyone has ever gotten a C3 hardtop into a Jeep (JK Unlimited) Wrangler. I have a 2024 model with only a soft top. Will the hardtop fit into it? Thank you.
I would measure it but I don’t have one, and it wouldn’t make sense to drive 20 miles to find out that it doesn’t fit. I am hoping someone can tell me if it will fit. Alternatively, maybe has the dimensions? BTW, as soon as I can, I’m buying a Bronco Raptor.
Rent a small pull behind trailer from a local rental place or U-Haul?
Pad the trailer well and strap it down well. Turn it around so it doesn't catch air as you are going down the road.
I'd sell the Jeep and get a Tacoma or Ranger.... I know, could not resist....

buy the ranger the new Tacomas are horrible. more nanny controls them our BMW X4M comp and gets the same fuel millage as my 2006 Tacoma with the 6 in it and a lift.
So it's cool to have a mall crawler! I have a 98 Wrangler with a LS6/4L60E swap. 16 years on the swap. Been totally bullet proof. It's snow plow mall crawler. IIRC I had it on a gravel road once!
The hardtops are roughly 52" x 52" x 16" - according to a previous CF Q&A. Not sure it would even fit horizontal in a full-size pickup bed. There are storage racks which orient the top in a vertical position — something like this could be made from wood. This would fit in a pickup bed or small trailer easily.
Just rent a 6x12 enclosed UHaul trailer.
Wrap the top with a couple blankets, lightly strap it down and be done.
The trailer will cost you under $50.00 even if you get their insurance.
When I bought my '70 that was 5 hours from home, I rented a Chrysler Pacifica minivan at a car rental place to transport the hard top and stock hood that belonged to the car. There was plenty of cargo room for those item an a few boxes or other parts. The nice thing about renting a minivan is that you don't have the per mile fees that you pay for the larger cargo vans. All in, the van rental was less than $300 for a 24 hour rental.

Worse case scenario rent a truck from Home Depot for $17.99 for 75mins.
I transported my hard top from NOLA to Dallas in the ack of a 3/4 ton Diesel pickup, no issues.
