Hello S71,
Welcome!!!!!
For 1971 production the base and LS5 engine's the air cleaner unit was a 'closed' type with 2 snorkels. There was a service information sticker on the side of the base.
However the Lt-1 and LS-6 optional engines had open air cleaners with silk screened instructions on the underside of the lid.
Regards....

Default Correct 1971 LS5 Air Filter Lid

Thanks Alan. I was more concerned with the cover or lid of the dual snorkel housing and whether it had screen printing on the underside?

my housing has been replaced at some point and I have a standard black cover. Looking to get the correct chrome cover with decals etc to bring it back towards original.

Thanks mate,
Rick

Hello Rick,
The 71 closed air cleaner didn't have the silk screen instructions on the lid.
The sticker I described was put on the side of the base on the driver's side.
Regards......
