Default Another cam question

While I was degreeing my brand new L71 cam, which met specs for timing by the card, I went ahead and checked all the lobes for lift and found several that were below spec and two that were .004 low. With 1.7 rockers that amounts to nearly .007 lost lift. Is this acceptable? When I measured the stock L82 cam a couple of weeks ago it came out nearly perfect with no lobes off by more than .001. In fairness, that is a low mileage factory cam, but shouldn't current offerings meet their spec as well as forty and fifty year old parts? And FWIW, I did check the cam by more than one method and got the same results so I do believe my observation is accurate. I'll pull it out of the block and measure it on the bench tomorrow. Not sure if I'm expecting too much. Thanks as always for your generous expertise.
