Default OEM fuel pump paint
Hi everyone

What would be a good paint to use for the OEM 1977 fuel pump?

I know it came from the factory bare, but mine is rusty in some spots. I already cleaned it up some years ago, when it was mounted, but the spots always come back.

I want it to have a clean cast look.

Hello N,
Originally the 'bowl' part of the fuel pump was zinc di-chromate plated.
This gave it a gold-ish / coppery color.
The remainder was left 'natural.
You can simulate this with gold or copper paint.

and for the cast part..and the chromate type coating i used ACE hardware brass epoxy..

It’s a dichromate spray paint from Eastwood. A bottle of Gold, red and green .

Perhaps many, maybe all, spray can be damaged by gasoline.
