Default Export C3 parts to Europe

I'm a new corvette owner and I want to know where I buy parts that can be delivered in Europe, I don't know if Ecklers or CorvetteAmerica are good options. If some European (or American) owners could guide me, please.
Thanks

I belive that almost any retailer will ship internationally. I always drop them a email and ask before i drop the order.

I lved in England for 5 years and never had troubles getting parts shipped over there from Wilcox, Zip or Corvette America. Ecklers always took my money but also always screwed up the order and it got expensive mailing stuff back that I didn't like. In England there are several places that stock parts. Try Claremont Corvette near London. Tom Falconer runs the place and he has a large stock of new and used parts for all years.

Hi

Germany has a lot of dedicated Vette part sellers.
Pls check out the German sister forum http://forums.corvetteforum.de
In the portal page, you find the vendors, like PETTY'S Vette shop.
Normally, they ask 1,2 times the catalogue USD price in Euro.
This includes shipping and tax to Germany.
Obviously, this is much nearer for me, actually hardly 300 KM to drive.
I also did lots of import from USA, mainly from ZIP , but normally got all shipped to Seattle area to a friend and put on board our company A/C to Europe.
When you get parts shipped directly from the vendors to you, make sure you agree on a shipping method and price as this can be very expensive when the vendor decides to ship UPS airfreight.

Good luck. Günther

Hi

I always read UK ?

Spain is pretty far away from this Island.

Is there no Vetteclub in Spain ? If yes, this guys will know how to proceed.
Otherwise, there is a big club in France , near to Spain.
Germany has a big Vette community etc.

The thing is, all US big vendors ship overseas. Problem is, that different shipping options cost more or less.
If shipped by UPS, they deliver to your house and took care of custom duties etc.
If shipper per post, custom declaration must be taken care by you.
Normal rates are 15 % import tax + 12 % penalty tax due to non EEC export country. Including the shipping price, all together can come to 25 % on top of the catalogue price.

Thats why it is sometimes easier to buy from European vendors, as I mentioned, they ask 1,2 times the price of the catalogue, which is about what it costs on selfimport, without taking the risk of wrong parts delivery etc.

Are there General Motors dealers in Spain? a lot of corvette parts are still available from the dealer. As you know most of our parts are Delco. There may also be a delco distributor over there.

I still get most of my parts from local GM dealers.

What part are you looking for? If i can help I will.

Hi

GM dealer in Europe, of course.
But the prices they ask are
I ordered a couple of plain steel stamped rockers for my BB and paied more than for a complete kit with camshaft, lifters etc.
Never ever again I will consider to buy spare Corvette parts from a GM dealer in Europe.
Best for me if I quickly need a part , is to get it from Germany over Vette dealers.
If I buy lots or expensive parts ( like my GM T56 VIPER tranny ), I buy in USA.

mantaraya , you can ask your questions in the German Forum also in English. Most of the guys understand this very well. Of course,. they all understand German very good.

Good luck. Günther
