You may also want to talk to John @ JB's Corvettes. It's @ Valley View & Bee St. in Farmers Branch/Carrollton. His whole operation revolves around painting Corvettes.
Thanks, I did talk to him. He has the only shop who can do it this century from what it seems. The local guy that says he will do it has been telling me for two months now that he'll be ready next week. Most folks are real busy or don't want to do a whole car. Ijust want to put mine back together.
I visited a fella in Fort Worth who was painting cars in the back parking lot. The price would have been the best but I couldn't figure out how the extra sand and bugs flying into the new paint would polish up.

The mechanic that's worked on my car for almost 20 years now strongly reccomends John @ JB's Corvettes. I got an estimate last week and will probably be using him for a paint job on my 79 as soon as I settle on exact color. I haven't had a car in for a full repaint with him before, but he did some fender repair work on my vette and some fiberglass repair work on our van's running boards a while back with excellent results.

I'm not sure if you're still looking into it texaswilkins, but I dropped my 79 off with John at JB's a few weeks ago for a full paint job. I'd be happy to share my experience and photos when it's complete.
I'd like that a lot. The guy who was going to do it still says he will be ready next week. 3 months waiting so far. Right now I am a paycheck away from taking it to JB. My new job hasn't started paying yet and my old job is 5 weeks behind.
