New guy to the site...Help!! My '70 350 auto won't start for me, to be honest i've not driven it since last summer but i feel guilty now and need to get her back on the road! i,ve cleaned the plugs and charged up the battery, there is fuel getting through and the engine turns over but won't fire. any guidance would be appreciated.
have you put new fuel into it?
Mine was the same after sitting 6 months wouldnt start at all.
Well it was water in the fuel i drained the tank and replaced the fuel filter
and then it started.but it idled bad so i took the carb apart and it was full of some yellow gunk in the bottom.Went and bought som carb cleaner and a rebuild set and the car has never been better.
Recheck to make sure you have spark going to the plug. If it ran before you stored it, get some dry gas and put it in the tank. Get some Starting Fluid (Ether). I suspect that you have water in the gas tank and a gummed up carb. The starting fluid will help it start and "dry" out the cylinders, they probably flooded.
Once you get it started don't do that again.I'm speaking from experince.Same thing with my 71 Z.I start it up three of four times a week now.Witch reminds me.I'll be right back.

I had this happen to me twice. My Points fused together and would not open so no spark. Take a dollar bill and slip it thru the points a few times to unstick. Now this is the 1st place I look when it don't wanna start.
