Default 76 brake booster question

Looks like it is time to remove my power brake booster......I noticed most of the sites list the power brake booster as the being the same for years 68-76. I have a late 76....my radiator support is the same as the 77...now I am wondering if I need the booster for a 77.....how much different is the 77 model brake booster? Anyone been there, done that!!
Thanks
Dale

Functionally, I believe they are the same. You may have to use a '77-82 master cylinder. Externally they look a bit different. I know the mounting stud locations are the same as '68-'76. I had one of these later boosters awhile back but sold it. I needed the "correct" '68 style booster for my restoration. I don't see why the later booster wouldn't work for your '76.

I also have a 76 that was built at the end of the model year, When I replaced my booster I used the one listed for a 76.

I posted this question at the office....when I got home I dug out the Parts Manual....the 68-76 had a Bendix and the 77-82 had the Moraine Brake Dual Diaphragm version. They do look like they bolt up the same. The drawings show a view from the tail end and not the front. Not sure just by looking at my car which is which.

Same here. My radiator is the 77 style. When I changed the booster I used a booster that was for a 76.

You will want to use a 68-76 Booster. We have plenty of rebuilt units, $119.95 w/$40.00 core.
