Is there a "short style" spark plug that will fit in my 350 in order to help the wires run behind the header tubes along th block? The current R44t's push the wire out to far even with the elbow to run the wires behind the tubes. Specific part number if so? Performance issues?
That's what I run. I still find that for cylinder 4 I have to run the cable towards the front, then loop it around to the back so it clears the header.
From: Who says "Nothing is impossible" ? I've been doing nothing for years.
Is that the whole number R44T or is there more ? I come up with an NGK part number YR55VX. I use the NGK plugs as they are identical to the Accel shorties, just not yellow and half the price.
my friend is dealing with this, and if you aluminum heads (requiring a deeper threaded section of the plug) you may not be able to get the shorty type. You may need to dimple your headers for this.
T = Tapered Seat
S = Extended Electrode (Tip)
X = Wide Gap (HEI)
MANY people use the -T versions when they shouldn't.
I remember holding two plugs next to each other in a store one time some 2 years ago, and looking at the white shank the wire is on..and finding the TSX was shorter on the ceramic measured from seat of the plug/taper to plug/wire end....and so chose the TSX, as the differance was about 1/8+ inch....
I can't remember much else but it was enough that with fabricated metal shields clamped to the headers going between the plug boots and header tube, it cured the burning....
