I hope the Mods don't frown on this kind of thing. If so, sorry in advance.

I've started a project on a '77 number matching Vette. I'm keeping my notes in a blog in case you want to follow on here:

http://77vette.blogspot.com/

I just got the body off the frame this past weekend. But I just set up the blog this week and i have to catch up my notes and pictures in the blog. You'll see more of the work later.

Right now I'm trying to decide what to do about the rebuild of the engine. The engine in there now is numbers matching but the guy I bought it from also had a '81 350 engine that he threw in the deal. He had planned to muscle it up with new intake, heads, cam, and headers. I'm thinking of doing the same to have some fun but keep all the original parts in case I sell it in the future.

What do you all think? What type of intake, cam, etc should I consider when building up the 2nd motor?

If the 81 block is a good one then it should be fine to build from there. That's if you want to flog the car. I did a mild upgrade on my 77 with vortec heads, good cam, headers, duals, etc... Good luck with your project, and I'll be checking your blog

Are you really going to try to build it into a mud buggy like the one shown in the photo?

Please tell me you don't think I'm serious!

You gotta know, I have a dry sense of humor. When I saw that picture, I just had to throw it out there.

No, the mud buggy is a joke.
