Default Electric Headlight Motor Conversion

I have heard that there are kits for the C-3s to convert to Electric Headlight motors, does anyone know who sells these or who the manf. is for these units. Thanks in advance for your help.

Here is the site.

www.mcspeed.com

They are called killer lights. He just sells the mounting hardware for the motors and stuff, you still have to buy the motors off of a fourth gen firebird and a few other pieces.

I am planning on doing this when I replace the whole front end down the road.

Good luck let us know how it goes.

Don't know if I'm reading this correctly, but I have a '76 and can't understand why you would want to change. My vacuum motor head lights have worked for years and now only need a an acutator seal for repair, I hope. Maybe have the seals in tomorrow.

It's the "hope" part that sucks! (NO pun intended there!) I'd rather rely on the electric motor. If you haven't had problems, hat's off to you.

work like a charm in other words.....

Does anyone still have the link for the wiper door conversion on '68-'72?
I had some info on it a while ago, but can't find it now.

New actuator rod seals, dust boots, check valve and filter installed. Lights work like new! About 2 hours labor and $90.00 in parts.

You obviously haven't had leaky actuators or relays yet

Default Headlight Motors

Actually mine work fine, the problem I have is all those vacumm hoses every where. I want to clean up the engine compartment and make it simple. Believe it or not my 68 sat for 11-12 years in a detached unheated garage before I found it. Get this an alum headed 427 coupe the motor had been rebuilt 5-6 years ago drove less than a 100 miles and once again put out to pasture until this past October when I bought it. Found the car on www.racingjunk.com it belonged to a drag racer that lost interest in the project. Once I get the car back from the body shop jail (3 months and counting) I am going to scope out the hd lght motor situation out and I will update how it goes.

Buy the kit from Chris, he's a great guy and will help you through the installation. He is also a forum member. Chris is not a business but you have to check out his work! Check his web site.

I am glad to see Chris selling the kit. A couple of years ago, someone else on the forum was engineering a kit. Several members here on the forum, myself included, sent him pre-payment for the kit and then he fell off the face of the earth...can't remember who it was now..

I believe Groovyjay has a set of them on his 79. He even has a video of them in action.
