The trip odometer on my '77 L-82 is bad. It works, but you can't reset it, as it feels like there's a gear that's stripped. I've already gotten a new trip odometer and am wondering if I should go ahead & buy the 9" trip odometer cable ($55) as well. I don't want to get the dash taken apart only to find out I don't have what I need to fix it............Also, is there anyone here who can point me in the right direction as far as the procedure for performing this repair, as I can see that the speedometer will have to be removed from the dash & taken apart in order to install the new trip odometer. Thanks!!!!
mine would not move ,,all it needed was to break loose the cable and i installed a new"'rubber tip and it now works like brand new,, you cant turn the dial without that little rubber tip--try it!!
