Hello members...
Could someone please point me in the right direction in regards to varifying the correct numbers for a 69. I am going to look at a correct number 69 this weekend. Needless to say, this is my first purchase, and believe me... I can not wait..smile! Thanks in advance. Don
Alot of places to start, most could write 3 or 4 paragraphs to help. Best to take dig pics. post them here and get the help that way. Also, do a search on the subject, should find umteen threads on the subject. But you did come to the right place....

Please, PLEASE take someone along with you who knows Corvettes. There are many specific problem areas in these cars that are not so visible to the untrained eye. You don't have a location specified in your profile, but I saw your WTB post mentioned that you're in California. If you post your location and ask for someone here to go along with you, I'm sure you'll get some offers to help.

Very good advice! In many cases even the seller doesn't know what he has (or doesn't have). Lacking that, the Corvette Black Book is very helpful and the NCRS pocket guide is even better to help you tell if parts are correct or not.
My point is about identifying correct numbers, but also related to evaluating overall condition. An uninformed buyer could easily choose a car with a nice shiny paintjob and a rotten frame and birdcage over a car with an older faded paintjob but a pristine frame and birdcage.
Lots of other things like this will be obvious to a knowedgable Vette guy, but could slip right by a novice to these cars.
