Default Offset Trailing arms---SWAP

Bought a set of OFFSET TRAILING ARM set-up for a 1972----I would like to install them on a 1980 -auto
1st Question--72 have different spindle flange (1/2 shaft connect to back of trailing arm---spindle---) than my 80. CAN I SWAP THE SPLINDLE FLANGE?????
2nd Question---IF I swap splindle flange---when I torque the spindle castle nut to the correct spec.---will this MESS-UP the spindle bearing set-up?????
3rd Question rear wheel brake dust shield----can I install my 80 park brake set-up(complete) on the 72 brake dust shield(beside the color--what is the difference between 65-75 dust plate and the 76-82 dust plate).
ANY HELP?????
THANKS FOR THE ADVICE!!!!

Yea!!!! WELL it all started with parts for sell on CF--12/31-04------- 68-82 offset trailing arms (suppose to be VB&P) for sell--- So I e-mail --- then CALL---THIS minor CF vendor said he bought them from someone who had smash-up the frontend (total-out) of a 72---the trailing arms had less than 500 to 1000 miles on them----BUT this vendor –being the GREAT GUY he is(WAS) – going to send them off AND HAVE THEM RECONDITION to SPEC….JUST… to make sure they were in GREAT SHAPE before he sold them. He would even throw-in a set of stainless brake kit FREE –IF---I would buy the front bushing—at his cost and pay for shipping----I THOUGHT----GREAT DEAL…..but ….before…. I buy them, I ask, “Will they BOLT TO MY ½ SHAFT WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS”-----he said “yes—that is not a PROBLEM”!!!! WELL….it took a MONTH to get them shipped to me( shipping was more than we had agree to----so he wanted to charge me EXTRA----this was after I had payed for them a MONTH AGO ).
I RECEIVED the TT YESTERDAY----1MONTH LATER----NO front bushing ( well that is another STORY------rubber will not work…so he said----so he is going to order the poly…but… they cost extra and he WANTS ME TO SHARE THE COST )
LESSON to LEARN FROM: IF the vendor is not a MAJOR VENDOR (one of the BIG-BOYS) BUYER BEWARE!!!!
AFTER ALL THE CRAP!!!! I am STUCK WITH A SET OF TRAILING ARM ( if I had a 72 or earlier –I WOULD BE AS HAPPY as a PIG IN SLOP….. they are in EXCELLENT SHAPE for a 72 set-up ) that I GOT TO MAKE WORK OR SELL……

LIFE is like a WHEEL…..WHAT goes AROUND….comes AROUNDS !!!!!

REMEMBER this MINOR VENDOR is STILL OUT THERE!!!!!!![/COLOR]

agteacher,
queston 3: The only difference is the color

question 1: Yes you can just swap the flanges. There is a shim behind
the flange on the '80 that goes on first.

question 2: Torque the nut to 100 ft lbs. continue to tighten to line up the cotter pin holes. Do not back the nut off. If the bearings were set up properly changing the flange will not affect them.
