I've never seen a leaf spring turned the other way. Mine was close before I replaced it. It was sitting almost level, which is probably how it should be rather than with a big curve like when they're new.
Question for anyone on the Forum who purchased a C3 new back in the day: Was the steel rear spring arched or close to straight? I have a feeling these new springs are not manufactured the same.
Original springs were always arched. The 26-year-old spring in my '79 still has a good amount of arch! It's just that the replacement springs we get nowadays are arched too much, it seems.
Here's my rear spring. Now, keep in mind, the interior is mostly gutted, the gas tank is empty and the rear bumper (and front for that matter) isn't on... So it'll probably flatten out even more. Now this is, as far as I know, the original spring... so I'd guess they should be almost (though not quite) flat/level when you're fully loaded.

To me it looks like the exhaust pipes are touching the ground already. One little bump and the exhaust is on the ground. What are the brackets for between the pipes? Anyone have any ideas?
