Well I ordered the Koni shocks from Summit that Jughead told us about recently. Good price $99 each for the rears. My car had some difficulties on cornering with the new stock shocks and the composite rear spring. Hope the Koni’s help. I also ordered an oil cooler to help cool the oil when on the high way, the water temp stays at 180 and the engine in the city stays the same buy screaming down the highway the oil gets hot. Thanks Jughead for the info.
Curious to see how long shipping takes to Thailand.
Ill let you pass on the late start. Usually parts from the Corvette suppliers and UPS take about a week. I don't know about Summit and shipping Shocks? I did notice that they say shocks can't be shipped by Air???? But a friend that is building (duplacating my 81) ordered shocks from Summit and the came UPS, I will let you know how long it takes and how they work.
Have a good day BTW it is 6:18 pm here. Time to go see my honey them go home to the wife.

Just curious. Could you say how you get them through customs? Are they delivered to your home, your business?
I've lived in some countries where you have to go to a Post Office or Customs Broker, stand and wait around and fill out paper work, pay duties, etc.

Actually FedEx or UPS clears the parcel and calls before delivery in order to tell you the charges and delevered to my home. Of cause in Asia the Customs people get money under the table and the customs brokers take care of this for FedEx and UPS. So you pay one way or the other. The best is the Post office as it is a different bunch of thieves and seam to not be as greedy.
TIT- This in Thailand
I'm sure you are going to be thrilled with the Koni shocks. I have used them on Sabbs and Alfa Romeos and they are the best. They truly feel like precision machinery controlling your suspension.

When I asked the question I wasn't totally unknowing. In 1992, I shipped a pallet of household goods into Thailand from Australia. I had to go Bangkok's Don Muang (spelling?) airport customs. The household goods included all the usual stuff, stereo music system, television, china wear, etc. I hired a local to show up with a pick-up truck. There was the usual conversations with customs. Anyhow, for $65 US, the customs people personally loaded the stuff into my hired pickup truck (no customs duties). Actually, it was a easy transaction for me, except for hiring the pickup truck. I've been to Thailand many times since 1975 and I really like the country. When I retire, I'd like to come and live there for several months every year. I JUST can't imagine driving a Corvette there. It appears you've adapted to this. So...Good on you.
The Thai's are so very polite and considerate in person. But when they drive cars they're very pushy.

The Thai drivers fit the other term used here (the killing smile)
Hi Dean,
You should love those Konis Everybody I know that's used them rates them highly & I was going to get a set for mine (the Koni importer is 3 miles from me & a mate gets trade discount there). Then I found that I had a set of Spax under all the dirt on the rear. The general consensus here is that Spax shoks are very good, but not quite as good as Konis. As I don't take it on the racetrack I bought a pair of front Spax shoks & they literally transformed the ride (had AC Delco on there). Even the wife noticed the difference within a mile. By all accounts Konis would be even better. With a composite rear spring & the Spax shoks the ride quality is nearly as good as my daily driver (which was once the top of the range luxury car - not anymore!), but with far superior road holding.
Customs & Excise here works out that you have to pay FEDX or UPS the duty, handling charges & tax if they shipped the parts (in which case you'll be paying through the nose as it is). If it came via the Post Office (as they generally do if USPS is used in the US) the day starts with Postman Pat hammering on the front door at the crack of dawn. Once the whole house has woken up & I answer the door he shows me a parcel, with a pleasant smile on his face, & then demands £xxx in duty before he'll hand it over. What a great start to the day. Offering him 50% and saying "Mi Chi, mi chi, Thai price, Thai price" doesn't work
I bet your C3 stands out a mile amounst all those white Mercs running about over there?
Well I gut a little set back today. It seams that Summit is unable to ship my order by UPS? They note on the Email that my credit card company refuses to pay shipping I called Summit and the dept that takes care of credit cards told me that the UPS charges are $145 for my shipment. I told her to see what other way it can be shipped and arrive this year? I did not tell her ONLY $145 the customs charges will be double that.Actualy the problem is my card is from the states and the delevery is to Thailand so the card company or Summit put a hold on the shipment. This is a common problem for me due to all the card frauds.
