I'm afraid you're going to get bracket flex as it is because you're 2" longer now making a longer moment arm. It will be interesting to see if it works ok or you will need to make a thicker bracket or add bracket stiffeners.
The billet machined high strength aluminum brackets 427V8 designed to mount wilwoods to stock rotors look awesome and i'm looking forward to putting them on in the spring.
With the 2" distance increase you are increasing the moment arm, but you are also going to decrease the required force to lockup the rotor because of the same moment arm. I don't think it will be an equal relationship but it should be close.
But, how does the fact that you now have distributed the weight of the rotor further out from the center effect the braking force required by the caliper? The mass moment of initera for the new rotor will be greater than stock even if they weigh the same. Will this be offset by the increased moment arm?

Mark.
I wouldn't think the mass moment of a 20 lb rotor would be any big deal. I just was wondering since the bracket wasn't stiff enough in its original design as evidenced by the creation of the J56 bracket stiffeners for the front, if the condition would get worse when the bracket is longer.
Be that as it may, i have no doubt that if there is going to be any problem Norval will figure out a clever way to improve the design.
They say the new Z06 is going to have 14" front rotors. I wonder if it is just for looks?

I thought about adding stiffener ribs and still could.. I just didn't know but the way I looked at it the caliper exerts pressure from both sides, 2 pistons and 2 pistons each with equal pressure on both sides.
Why would one side try to push the caliper over to one side and require a stiffer bracket to prevent this???
