Ecklers part number A9447 will get you the clip. If I remember they cost around $2.50 each, but they do not have the screws. I found screws at a small auto supply store. After removing the old rusted screws the holes in the windshield were a little sloppy. I closed them up some with a stick welder and used JB Weld in the hole for hold assurance. http://www.ecklers.com/product.asp?p...85AXM20Q8V2T6A
Which of these clips are which? Is the top posting the ones for the trim accross the top and the second for the pilar post trim (inside, on the weather strip)? if so, what is used to attach the side trim parts to the pilar post; screws?

The links are the same clips, just different vendors. They are the clips that attach the stainless steel trim to the top of the birdcage.

Ahhh. Now I see. What about the side trim. How is this supposed to be attached?
The side trim pieces are held to the A-pillar with screws and the larger coated clip holds the weather strip in place. Of course that is in addition to weatherstrip adhesive. Unless this area is well sealed, it is a reservoir for water and prone to rust.

Thanks for this. It's because of the rust that I'm asking the question. the previous owner had this section rebuild and gave up before putting it back together. I have a box of parts, an Assembly manual and only an educated guess as to how it all goes together.
PS Sorry Michael; didn't mean to pirate the thread.

No problem man.. I would have asked your question sooner or later! Every nut and bolt on the top of my birdcage needs replacing.
Thanks Michael. At least you have the rusty bolts to go by. Drives me nuts trying to guess how something is put together. Sometimes the Assembly manual is fantastic. Sometimes not.
