T-tops? Talking mounting here, not glass vs. painted vs. head room. Thinking of buying a pair of painted ones for my PC - when I need tops - and putting the glass ones aside.

Your Pace car has One lever. earlier models had a different latching mechanism. front and back levers. (1977 + earlier) I think they can be modded to fit...the size is the same, just the latches that are different

nopers, 68-77E have the same tops, 77L+ have the same tops. 68-73 have different headliners than the 74+. There is a simple mod you can do to make the 68-77E take the later style tops, i think it has to do with the latches, but i've never heard of any 77L+ switching to the earlier tops.

Not 100% sure on what they changed or how hard it would be to fit one design to the other car. It's mainly a design change in the latch mechanism. The basic top design is otherwise the same.

Default tops are different shape

I have a 69 the had 77 or later tops on it. I did not really know that they were different until I put a set of 74 tops on it. the later tops sit on the car and they have about a 3-4 inch gap in between them and the curve on the side sits out a little further that the earlier tops. but if you are just thinking about mouting them then they will fit. just don't look quiet rite.

Since we're talking T-tops, what's the best way to reattach the original headliners to the tops. The original "velcro" like fastners have been bubba-ed up and will no longer hold the headliners. It gets right exciting going down the road and headliner decides to fall down. Have thought about glueing them in place permanently but don't really want to go that way. Any suggestions?

I was wondering the same thing. I have painted T-tops and was thinking about getting glass.
