How difficult is this swap? I have a fresh LT1 and looking for a new home for it. Can get a 75 for a good price.
Will it bold up to the factory 4-speed?
Will it fit without any mods to the engine bay?
What hood will I need?
I have to see if I can pull this off. Thanks for the info.
Itll fit under the stock hood, get harness from painless or others or use a factory one and modify it to work in the car.A few people have done the lt1 already and other fuel injection setups.
Well it's actually happened. I bought my 1st corvette, a 1970 coupe project. No motor (perfect) and no front clip for a great price. I'm going to do the frame, suspension and brakes before I drop the motor in. I'll be on quite a bit looking for information and am not shy to ask questions. I'm psyched up to start this project and getting my first vette on the road!
Yes, it can be done. I have TPI in mine, but LT1 fits too. See www.corvettefaq.com for more info and photos. I personally like the flat hood better, but that's just me.
perfect! Finish it off like a stock 1970 "LT1" with the bigblock hood and the LT-1 badges and lines on the hood.
sorry, getting a little carried away with your project!
LOL been there allready. My goal is to have the frame done and the car a full roller by August in time for Carslile corvette weekend, where I hope to find a decent entire front clip. I'll need the radiator support and all brackets, etc.
