Help! '81 Light Delay Controller
I need to find the light delay controller. The interior lights stay on after the doors are closed. The system worked fine until a couple of days ago. I didn't notice the lights were on and killed my battery last night. I recently had the whole interior out of the car (including dash, gauges, and all console items) and discovered a clooection of plastic boxes attached to various wires scattered throughout the car. I figure one of these must be it.

I assume that you have checked your door switches, and the wires on the back of them. I am not sure of the controller is in the same place as my 78, however it iwas under the dash around the glove box. You might have to take out the interior part of the glove box(6 screws) to see it..sometimes it is tied up there really well. It is a small orange box. You can also bypass it, which is what I did after checking the door switches.

If you deternine it's bad DON'T buy it off of Ebay. There's a guy selling the timer on there for $52 all the time. GM Parts Direct (see their site) has the part (463498) for $33.16.
