Well, even if you buy the mini-spare, it's gotta go somewhere, and there ain't nowhere to put it except in the original spare tire tub. I'd haunt ebay, pick up the tub there (they come up every once in a while), and stick a nice full size spare in it. Either that, or get triple-A gold and don't worry about it.
So you're saying a full size spare would fit in the stock tub that was originally built to take a mini-spare? That would be ideal if I can do it. I have a flat left rear, so I was hoping to get two new rears and use the extra as a spare. When I got the car it had, and still has, Eagle GAs in the front and GTs in the back. This would give me a chance to make the 4 tires matching.
I already have AAA; in fact they've picked it up on flatbed and dropped it at my Vette guy. Best investment I've made so far.
Thanks for the advice; I'll check ebay for the tub.

Found some pics of the tub in my guidebook and it seems like it's big enough for a standard size tire. Wondering if I can get away with just buying the "V" bracket and not using the tub.
If anyone has an old rally wheel they are looking to get rid of let me know.
