Default Lowering The Suspension?

Has anyone lowered their C3 more than the stock ride height?

Thanks, "cruzzin-style"

Default Lowering The C3 Suspension?

Thanx for the "tid-bit". But, how do U get the car to drop in the rear. I installed & re-built the whole rear suspension, but I can't get the rear to come down. I'm using the longer rear spring bolts & have them ran all the way down to the cotter pin hole & "no dice". The rear sits up way too high & there's way too much arch in the spring. What's the deal? Am I missing something?

Yeah, I guess U could get 'em longer, But then they'd be draggin' the ground. There's gotta be something I'm missing about doing this, I just don't know what it is at the moment.

Hey, Not "smart-aleckly" at all..........I was also told that the rear spring (if it's new) will have to "settle", But 4 inches!!!!! Not likely. This rear is actually sitting up about 4 to 4 1/2 inches too high!!!! Can't get it to lower at all. Like I said, I've got the longer 8 inch spring bolts installed & they're ran all the way down to where the cotter pin goes in. This is really getting me "down"

Hi Thanks for the reply. I did run the nut all the way up 'till I ran outta threads. Then I had my buddy run them all the way down to where the cotter pin goes in & I watched the rear as he did that. I also was using a tape measure & the only drop was about 3/4 of an inch!!!!! This just isn't right.

Let me guess...

You have a fiberglass TRW style spring????

Here's how you fix it.
Jack up the car.
Remove the spring.
Bring it back to the people you bought it from,
Demand a refund
Buy a steel spring from a reputable spring supplier.

Have you driven the car yet? Any time that the ride height is adjusted you need to drive the car around the block or so to settle the suspension.

No: But I've rolled it up & down the drive way a couple of times. I'm aware of the fact that the rear spring has to settle abit. But, 4 inches????? I think not. A spring migh settle about a inch, if you're lucky. I'm tending on agreeing with "427V8" who posted that those TRW mono springs are not for the C3's. I may just go to the stock 9 leafer steel spring as he suggests. Don't know what else to do.

There was much much discussion on this a while back.
Not too many good results esp with the higher rated springs.

the people selling them say they never have any problems.
But I had one and took it off.

Put on a steel spring and everything is good again

there is supposed to be a different alternative to the steel spring other than the TRW style. I know it's composite, but don't know the difference between it and TRW.
