I'd call this an "aftermarket tire pressure indicator" ...if you get a flat tire you'll hear the bolt scraping on the pavement....

Honestly, I'm most worried about the tire flexing under hard cornering.... then the 1/2" between tire and spring won't be enough....

If I hit a 3" deep pothole just right so that the tire falls in but not the rest of the suspension and I am going fast enough to do damage, then the bolt will be the least of my worries.

My situation is not perfect but I keep an eye on the situation. I don't baby the car. Sidewall flex has not been an issue. The photo lokks worse than it really is due to the angles and the light.

These pics were posted by Miker a while back; not too pretty. Note that the car is resting on the end of the spring bolt.

I bought a 7 leaf from Zip. I thought it was too low, as it actually lowered the car from my stock 9 leaf. When the car is at rest, the spring is STRAIGHT across the bottom. I always thought there should be SOME arc to it...

Would the transverse glass rear spring eliminate these problems? I'm thinking the the adjustability factor is worth the extra cost. On top of that is the weight lost. JMHO
