Default Keisler test

I'm leaving Ft. Lauderdale for Kentucky in the morning. This will be the first long trip. Last time I did this trip to I broke the engine. I think it was because of the high RPM's. Now a new ZZ4 crate, Keisler TKO 5 speed, W/308.. Oh ya, cruise control too. I'm woundering what my gas milage will be. The Holly 750 double pumper w/machanical secondaries is the ????? I'm hopping 16 to 19 mpg. We will see

Sounds great! Did Keisler ever approve synthetic oil for their transmissions? I know there was talk...

Make sure to post the results of your test drive. Should be interesting to see the outcome.

Does Keisler give us any forum members any discounts? I'm interested in their six speed, and may be getting one if my new job goes well.

A keisler kit is on my agenda. I am unsure on whether or not I want the T56 model, or the TKO model.

The TKO will provide for better acceleration and have a good overdrive with the .64 final gear. but the .5 final gear in the T56 is really good. Have to decide if that .14 difference is worth it.

The one benefit is that I could use the T56 and the difference in the first 3 gears would even out as I could run a bigger/smaller/whatever rearend to even it out.

Yah - they do group purchases from time to time. They just had one in december. I ordered the TKO 500 for my C-4 and we ordered (and recieved and am installing) the same tranny as part of an auto to manual conversion for my brothers C-3. (he spends alot more money - and I still kick his ***!)

Hi

This is a GM-T56 Viper Tranny I just received in Luxembourg ( Europe ) on Thursday.
It is from D&D Performance and has the mechanical speedo adapter setup.
I will be starting installation next week after I cut out the crossmember.
Payed 2499 + 200 shipping/handling within the USA + about 200 for taking it over the pool including customs fees in Europe.

I'm glad that the USD is so weak against our Euro, so it became reasonably cheap ( less expensive ).

Of course, overall cost goes on: Clutch , slip joke, shortening drive shaft , removable crossmember and many small parts because they where found worn when removing the old M21.

The overall cost of this mod will come to 3500 USD = 3000 Euro and that is cheap considering a 25 % import duty for US articles to Europe .

The Keisler Kit on T56 is how much ? ( don't forget to add 25 % in my case )

Wish me luck, pls. Günther

WELSH,
I was in your neighborhood (Luxembourg) yesterday. I was in Bastogne too. Visited Gen Pattons grave site. Very nice area you live in. Too bad I didn't know that you were over here. Could have used a tour guide. Just kidding. I finally got access to a computer over here. I figured I would say hi! I will be back in the states by the end of the week. Talk to you later!

Hi Darryl

So, where are you right now.
If you find the area ok, you should see this in spring/summer.
Enormeous driving roads going up north of the country with lots of castles etc.

Give me a call if your still in Luxembourg. 564725, ask for Günther.

WESCH,
I'm back in Geilenkirchen now. Most likely won't be able to make it back to Luxembourg during the rest of this trip. If I get a chance to make it back over to GK again, I will let you know beforehand. We come here off and on for missions. Hard trip to get on. Everyone enjoys coming here. Maybe next time if I fly over, if you need I can bring a few (small) vette parts over with me. Save on the shipping. Talk to you later.

I put a t56 in my 69. I cheated. the body was off the frame when I did the cross member work. I used the adapter plate and manual tack drive rear housing.

manual tack drive rear housing?? maybe I'd like to know more about this... that would eliminate the need for a tach drive distributor..
