Some stackers come with an RF modulator. The antenna lead is either plugged into the unit and then to the head unit or the antenna cable is spliced into. The radio is then tuned into a "station" which the stacker is transmitting on. Fine if you accept the limits of Fm broadcasting for your sound system, Then again most people have more exhaust noise than music when driving their Vettes
As installing go------not to bad......sound quality depends on HEAD UNIT----hard wired is the the BEST...but FM modulator unit turn out VERY GOOD SOUND QUALITY.
We have installed both types at school. The newer C3 have a fairly good FM radio unit from the factory. After the head unit, the quality of sound comes from 3 components: CD unit(BUY a GOOD unit) the Antenna and then the Speaker. If any of the 3 or LOW quality---then the FM modulator unit is not the way to go.
