Default San Diego guys

Need name/ phone # of some good muffler shops. Went today to a shop that does alot of work on the upper end rods and they want $400 to install this http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...8&page=1&pp=20

May be a fair price but for 4 lousy welds?? I want to shop around.

Thanks.

Ed Hanson in Spring Valley has a very good reputation. If not for your headers I'd recommend an aluminized stock system from Volunteer Vette.

I'm glad to hear you're keeping her. If you're in the area I do have an international blue car here for awhile and it really is a nice color.

Valley Muff in el Cajon. Cheap pricing and quick - they work while you wait.

Dave....

Now that I have my new login I can answer you...seems after 6 years on the forum i have long since lost my account and password.. and the e-mail the account was attached to no longer exists...

Serves me right for not updating by profile...anywho....

Duotone muffler on Misison Bay drive...good outfit and one that has done many a sweet car...affordable and talented.

Ed Hanson is the guy in town apparantly, but I've heard he can be a bit on the pricy side...thats second hand though

Well called all three shops today and they are all within $70 of each other except for the $540 Ed Hansen includes the H-pipe. Given his reputation and closeness to my house I'll go with them.

David;

Thank you for using my website. The website does give you an extra 10% discount off the $600.00 which brings it down to $540.00 plus I will install an equalizer (balance tube) in the system at no extra charge. The explanation for the labor charge is like anywhere else, we have to cover all costs in overhead. Most "Kits" need modification or total replacement of sections to avoid rattling or ugly non-symetrical lines.

I would not recommend buying the chambered system unless you have heard it on a similar engine. That system is very raspy or backrappy like a glasspack. If all your piping is good you might just replace your mufflers, but really the package price is real good!

We will make "Your Pipe Dreams Come True!"

Sincerely,
Ed Hanson
