I got a new transmission crossemember today to replace the 80's style one a previous owner install on my 78. I got to looking at the parking brake bracket and was comparing it to AIM and I noticed they differed. The bracket on my new crossmember looks like the one on my 71 but the parking brake bracket shown in the 78 AIM is more upright on the crossmember. So my question is will my existing parking brake pulley work with the bracket on my new crossmember and retain a functioning parking brake? I was all set to take the crossmember to be powder coated tomorrow.

I recently put in a BTO crossmember for my 700r4 trans and the parking brake bracket was in a radically different location....but it bolted up just fine...i guess if you are in doubt take the old one out and make sure the bolt diameters are the same. They come out really easily just loosen the parking brake cable and loosen the pulley bolt....badda bing badda booom its in your hand.
