Default The Side StingRay Emblems

I noticed one of mine is only held on by the front prong. There are no middle prongs. The prong near the door is there, but will come out. If there previously was a clip or nut it must have fallen off.

How can I fix this? Should I just get new emblems?

BTW, it is going to the body shop for a little work at the end of March.

Yes! You may recall I took it back four times. My exhaust panel fillers have seams. I am getting them glassed so it will be entirely smooth across the lower rear.

What to do about the emblem?

The side emblems on my 77 (crossed flags) are held on with double sided tape, cut to fit around the emblem. It would take a lot of trimming but you could do the same with the Stingray emblem.

Mark,

My 72 fender emblems have all four posts with no nuts or clips. There are no nuts or clips pictured in the AIM either. These were just pushed into place with a thin black type glue on the entire back side of the script.

My car was repainted in the mid 90's, so I can't swear this is how it left the factory.

BTW, check your PMs .

Mine have held on with just a friction fit since 96 when I painted it. There was just the right amount of primer/paint built up in the holes

Mine have stayed on just fine with the 3M part number 06382 double sided tape. The stuff is expensive as hell, maybe your local body shop would sell you enough for the emblems. I think it's about 30 bucks per roll! Trimming it around all the details on the emblems takes a lot of time. I borrowed a scalpel from the surgeon that lives across the street from me and used that. Xacto knife might work with a fresh blade.

As nice as your car is I would have them airbrushed on. That would be trick.
