harmonic balancer
the outer ring kept spinning??? Be thankfull it didn't come off all together and took out some other stuff on it's way...it is a stock one we're talking about here right? Not a rattler....

That's wild. Glad no damage was done. When replacing, do your self a favor and by a good one that's made in the ole US of A. I had a horror story by going down to the local parts store and not paying attention to what I bought. Got the new one on the crank but the pulley holes were not to spec. Ended up having to tap them out and was a real PITA. I should have a) read the packaging and noticed that the balancer was made in China and b) checked everything while it was on the bench.

Send it out to Damper Doctor in CA. Talk to John and tell him you want your orignal one back. They rebuild them for about $50 and you know it fits.
