Default Bloomington Gold - Are you going?

I know this early, just trying to get an idea of how many CF members plan to attend this event. If you have voted in this same poll in another section, please don't vote again.

This is one of the biggest Corvette events in the country and happens June 24-26 this year in St Charles, Il (Just outside of Chicago). More info about the event itself can be found at http://bloomingtongold.com/

The reason for this poll is we will be trying to get a CF-exclusive parking area on the course much like we did for Mid America's Funfest last year, which turned out to be a great success for a first-year attempt.

I do not know if this CF-exclusive parking idea at Bloomingron is a possibility yet, but if we have a large amount of people planning to attend, it can only help in our request.

Thanks!

Not this year. I have been in the past. It was better when it was in Bloomington.

Hard to believe that you liked the interstate center That place was a dump. Plus not near enough hotel space for all the participants.

Have been the last three years straight plus about five time before. So, Yep, I will be there this year.

I'm planning on going! I have some family in McHenry so I'm looking forward to seeing them as well as attending the show. I'm looking forward to meeting my fellow Corvette forum members as well!

STW!

Oh Yeah!!!!!..........fly in, bid on cars in the auction, buy really neat parts at the swap meet, look at and talk to all the early C3 cars & owners, and bring home my new found parts on the airplane!

Last year bought a spare dual disc clutch setup and an extra pair of ZL-1 exotic aluminum heads.

I went with a vendor and we "camped" in the truck. I thought there were more vendors and better parts there. That may also be part of the Ebay parts kill the swap meet phenomenon.

Do people to attend the event even if your car is not in mint condition? Is it supposed to be NCRS? Mine has non-original paint that is just average, and the engine bay is somewhat messy as well.

I'll be there in the club section for at least two days. I think I'll skip the drive out.....I got tailended on it last year. BG is moving next year (No one seems to know where yet). The registration book says there will be added entrances this year....it was pretty slow getting in last year. To me this is still the best Vette only swap meet around and the gold course setting just can't be beat.

Wouldn't miss it! This will be our 18th year attending. Always have a great time. Be aware that rooms in the immediate area are going fast. We made our reservations 2 weeks ago at the St. Charles fairfield Inn & Suites.

Yes I have made a hotel reservation. I have been to the old Bloomington and the new site in St. Charles. The new site is much cleaner, more hotels, more resturants. My biggest complaint from last year was the lines at the food vendor's for lunch. Dave Burroughs has commited on improving that, so it should be great.

last year it was a joke getting into that place,, usually we park ''on the lawn''-with our vettes, and they used to let us in on the west side, and started parking us on the lawn going from west to east,,as the cars came in filling up the west side first,,,last year some idiot decieded to let the cars in on north ave in the center,,he had north ave all backed up and a zig-zag pattern to getting in that bottle necked to one lane,,it was horrible,,the road tour was the best in 2000,,,they wanted 2000 vettes in that tour and they got pretty close to it,, guys were still ''launching'' from the meeting spot as i was coming back in!!!--they had a lot of people at intersections waving you thru,,so you always were with the group of vettes,,,last year they didnt have as many people at intersections and if you let a gap form in the line ,,when we got to a intersection we didnt know which way to go and one guy turned the wrong way and 100 people followed him,,i hope they have the bugs outta these problems this year

i called there today,,in order to do this someone has to be a ''group leader'' and tell them exactly how many people will be there--it is a 2 day min for $60-- to do this group thing,,,they will need all the money turned in at one time for the group of corvette forum members attending,,they also need a list of all the names & addresses of our group.. like i said its $60.00 for 2 day pass and $80.00 for all three--- she also said they have the bugs worked out this year as far as getting in and the road tour is supposed to be the best yeat with more sights to see(it usually is a real nice ride in the country,,2 yrs ago someone set up a ''christmas tree'' and we all took turns stopping and roasting our tires!!!!)-- if you do it the way she wants the'll have a sign out for the corvette forum,,and some other fringe benifits because its considered a ''club''---me personally i dont like the 2 day thing,, one days enough for me,,,unless you want to attend the classes they have then 2 days is a must

Absolutely since I live 10 minutes from there.

Cruising the streets those days is incredible. My hand gets tired from waving.

I will be there! I live about 15 minutes from there. If I can get my other 76 painted in time I might be able to bring 2 Vettes. How long is the cruise?
