Thinking about ordering the steeroids kit before the price goes up. But I have a question about the rod ends that come with the kit, can anybody tell me why they use this type of rod end instead of actual tie rod ends and how they hold up over time.

they are a higher quality unit then typical tie rod ends....hot rods have been using this stuff for years... i don't think the heim joints are an issue at all........
I was watching two guys garage the other day, and they put them in a 69 Camaro. Looked simple to install, and the only 'cutting' you had to do with the couble D bar.
I think I'm gonna buy them, and add them while my body is off.
NOthing against steeroids, BUT it's a LOT at 1200 clams for what I basically did in a week's time for maybe 200 bux cash outlay...still on the car and operational....~4 years now...

I would not want to risk my safety given my limited eng and fab abilities, I suspect Gene has many times the experience than most guys on the forum and can handle eng and fab his own r&p system. Just be carefull if you guys decide to tackle this.
OK, the brackets are basically simple, and done with a welder buddy and some junkyard shopping it's a '92 grand am rack, 2.7 turns lock to lock with my '92 vette wheels tires////....thing is very quick and takes allmost no steering input to do whatever...I feel maybe anything quicker is a bit too much....YMMV....
pix on my website, assuming it's still up...been a while ...

I agree with Favre there entirely, I don't weld very good myself, so rely on buddies to do that for me...and I know they know...
as for engineering/design work, I needed help from Pete here on the forum a couple of years ago to get rid of some bump stear problems...that's an olde joke intentional mis spelling now, on account of I acually side swiped a COW some decades ago....
