I've got my off set t/a's in and shimmed (real nice stuff fron Van Steel) but I've learned on Fast Corvettes web site than I need to install washers between the poly bushings and shims, I didn't do this and am really frustrated at the idea of tearing all this back apart. This does makes sense because the bushings distort a little after installing the shims but if I can get away with out doing this I will, any advice?
I just had my trailing arms rebuilt at Van Steel but haven't installed them yet. Call Dan at Van Steel, he's been very helpful with my questions. Please post the answer when you find out.
Yes!!! Just got off the phone with Van Steel and no washers are required, I was confused because they sent me EVERYTHING I needed to finish this, I mean down to the last safety pin so I didn't give it much thought until I was checking out Fast Corvettes web site.
I don't know what they are talking about. There are 3 types of poly bushings. On one set made by VBP, actually uses shims to get the correct distance but you don't need washers with them either. Like I said, I don't know what they are talking about.
The poly bushing set I bought (prothane) came with washers for the T/A bushings... to use presumably between the bushing itself and the shims. Not entirely sure what the purpose is... but I have them... and installed them.
seems like a pretty good place (fast corvettes) i love the vintage racing pics. prices seem pretty good too.
Carefull they lost there ace rebuild mech and there seams to be a problem with getting core money back, I have gotten alot of stuff from them but haven't sent any cores back to them.
