Default Body mounts? Opinions?

I am getting close to dropping my 71 body back on the frame. Wanted to go to the later rubber for ride comfort. Found these poly's. What do you folks think? Pros? Cons?

Just replaced mine with the polys, really doubt that there is a lot of difference between the rubber and poly by the time the bubber mounts are compressed. Easier to get the polys in unless you have the body off and they are alot cheaper.

The rubber bushings have steel inserts so you torque the bolt against the steel inserts. The fiberglass "floats" between the two rubber discs.

I don't think poly has the steel inserts so you torque the poly together. I'd think poly would be very close to solid mounts.

If the poly mounts have steel inserts, disregard my comments...

I went from stock 71 solid mounts to 73-up rubber on my 71 and like them a lot. Quiter and better ride with no impact on handling.

Ditto Zwede. Go with GM rubber mounts.

If and when I get around to changing mine, I am going to take the stock solid mounts out and put rubber in just for the reasons that Zwede listed.

it was like 50$ without the bolts. I'll just get those at the hardware store for like 5 dollars

I know alot of forum members have been using them,i just wasnt willing to pay the price for the rubber when everything else seems to be going to poly. At 54 yrs old dont figure i will ever have to worry about them again anyhow.

I read in the last thread about poly vs solid that the poly will raise the body 3/8 of an inch. Is there any way to shave the poly stuff down so it doesnt make the body sit any higher?

I just looked at the VBP poly's and it doesn't show the steel inserts...guess I have to call em'? Interested in lostpatrolman question as well...can you shave em and the steel inserts?
