Default Garage pics please

Could someone share a picture of their garage?

I planning a makeover on my 3-car detached and would like to get some ideas.
Stupid question, but does anyone know if kitchen linoleum would work on a garage floor - I am considering using this rather than tile($) for the black/white showroom checkered effect.

There are some interesting ideas posted here. Some are a bit over the top but some are quite practical.

BTW, I wouldn't use linoleum...it would wear through quick. It's not made for that and the weight of a car on it...... IMHO.

I just finished insulating and drywalling my garage. I was surprised at the amount of stuff that I had stored between the wall studs. Today I ordered my workbench and cabinets from Sears. I'll post pictures when they're installed.

Bought mine at Home Depot. Made by Armstrong. Had it down for 1 1/2 years with no problems and much easier to keep clean.

I too am thinking of the vinyl tile instead of epoxy. What did you do for floor prep before laying the tile?

I called Armstrong before I did it. Here is what they told me:

- Thoroghly clean the floor (etching is not required)
- Use the peel 'n' stick tile (other adhesives have issues with auto fluids)
- Once complete, wax with a commercial floor wax
- Let set for 3 days (curing prevents hot tire marks)
- Done

I followed their instructions and now can clean the floor with a swifter mop and the cars no longer get dusty and it looks cool. I used the black and white checkered pattern but you can get them in almost any color combination. Home Depot has a catalog. By the way, 800 sf cost me around $150.00.

Hi igo4vols,
Armstrong tiles sound like the best option.
What was the exact model number/name of the Armstrong tile you installed?
How long have you been using the tiled floor?
Do you ever use floor jacks on the tile floor?
Is it holding up well?
Did you install them over new concrete or was there a few oil spots prior to install?

Mike

igo4vols- I am really interested in the Armstrond tile as well. Let us know what the exact description or item # is.

gliot1- Your floor looks like mine used to. Is that the Rustoleum epoxy? I have painted mine twice with it. I acid etched, used TSB substitute, and even belt sanded the concrete. The paint has peeled up both times over the last two winters. I think the road salt may be doing it, but hot tires also lift some. How has yours held up? Did you apply it to new concrete or old? What prep work did you do?

Here's mine. PVC slatwall throughout, Satellite TV, Frig, sink, and bar table. You can almost make out the display engine I'm working on.
