Default 73 Headlight Problems....HELP!!!!!

I have a '73 Vette with troubles getting the headlights to go up & to go down! The left tries real hard to work but the right does nothing! I know these problems had to be asked before, does anybody know of a good link to isolate the causes of headlight problems like this for these models?
THanks

Probably a vacuum leak.

there are 4 seals in the actuators, they are not hard to change yourself, either that or the air hoses are leaking.
possible you put in a big cam lately?? you may need a diffrent power valve to restore vaccum if that's the case.mike

Read Corvette-101 Vacuum Troubleshooting. It is the best headlight troubleshooting guide I have found.

Thanks Very much for the info, that web page will help, too. This is running a stock cam, I haven't found any leaking hoses, and there is vacuum at the reservoir. I'll keep looking when I can. Weather is really fighting me today. mfgaffney, Thank you so much, I sent you an e-mail.

Also, while playing with this, now the left side is staying up,it is "mechanically locked" in the up position, not by vacuum! How do I release it??????
THanks Again

There is an over center brace that pops into position when they come up fully. If you look up into the underside of the headlight assemblies you should be able to see it. Once you've done it a few times you can reach up there and find it without actually having to see it.

Carefully "unlock" it by pulling it in the direction of the actuator and it should then go down. I say carefully, because they do like to pinch you if your not.
