Default Charging Question

My voltometer, or ampameter or whatever its called has started to read on the high side, about half way between straight up and the orange bad zone on the right.

When starting it also seems like the starter doesn't quite have the power it did just a few days ago, although it seems to run fine.

What is this an indication of? Should I replace the battery or alternator?

Both were in when i bought the car 2.5 years ago.

Thanks for your input.

Pull the battery. Have it tested. Most auto parts stores do it free.

That indicates that it's trying to charge the batter. Most likely a bad battery.
