Do you have leather or vinyl seats? There have been many subjects on this issue so if the search function is working you can look it up.
I can say I tried it (from light tan to black) without success. Took the seats out and carefully cleaned it with soap, cleaned it with paint thinner to get any soap or dirt residue off, then spray painted it with some wallmart type vinyl spray paint...and it started pealing and rubbing off in places within a week. I don't think it stuck to the leather part. So much for that. I ended up buying new seats a few months later since one was ripped (really nice seats - custom covered with black cloth, got them at a bargain because the person who ordered it backed out of the deal).
I used a good bit of dye on my interior with no problems..............except my seats........with go to the trouble , I recovered my seats with a set of new covers , only had to invest in a pair hog ring pliers
Any Advise On How To Change My Seats From Black To Dark Saddle.how Do I Prep Or Clean Them ? What Dye Do I Use ?
'Bout 30 years ago, I dyed the seats in a 65 vert black. They had been tan. Actually, I removed the whole interior and dyed all the vinyl black. Bought new carpet and dyed everything else. I had the car for at least a couple of years after I dyed the seats and didn't have any real problem with them rubbing off or peeling. It's possible that I touched them up at some point but I don't remember it. The car was my daily driver. I used MarHyde. Bought it in a quart can and sprayed with an ordinary spray gun.
