The adjustment on that [for best performance] is so there is no "bog" when you go WOT. You want the switch energized early enough so that the downshift occurs about the same time your foot hits the floor. [there is a small time lag in the process of activating the kickdown switch, on the trans channel plate, venting hydraulic pressure from that solenoid switch, and the clutch pack change at downshift]
If you get a 'bog', adjust it to make contact a bit sooner.
That is probably NOT how GM wants that adjustment to be done; but that's what works best.

use a piece of rubber hose that will fit over the part that hits the pedal ( making it larger in diameter) it will contact the pedal sooner. check fitment first so you don't break the switch. 68 and 69E switches are not being reproduced that I know of.
Today I looked under my car and guess what?
The switch was disconnected all together.
Now I put it back and traced the cables back to the kickdown switch at the pedal and to the relay on the firewall.
There the connector attaches to the relay but also to that relay is attached a green wire.
Green wire is cut in two!
What is that green wire?
