Default Speaker question

Would like to hear from any and all who are using a Custom Autosound Speaker Bar in their Corvettes. This is the speaker setup that mounts in the rear luggage compartment and has 4-6 speakers depending on the model.
I am interested in the sound quality particularly in the quality of the bass sound. My 68 coupe is in the shop for an extended period and I am unable to do my own test and would like to get opinion of other users.
Thank you in advance for any input.

I have one installed in my 77. It has 6 speakers and I drive it with a 200w amp. The sound is ok but bass is null. I added a Bazooka 6 in sub with built in amp. Sounds much better. Someone on this board posted several months ago that they had replaced all of the speakers in the speaker bar and sound quality improved dramatically. I may try that this summer.

The plus for the speaker bar is that it wedges in and doesn't move -and it leaves room for the t-tops.

Igo4vols,
Thanks for the reply.
Where did you place the amp and also how much space did the bazooka take up and where did you put it. I don't want a lot of extra clutter in the interior since there isn't much room to begin with and I want to be able to store the T-tops in the car, not leave them home.
Thanks,
Kurt

I glued a 1/2 sheet of plywood under the rear deck then carpeted it. I then screwed everything into the plywood so everything hangs upside down. The Bazooka hangs down a bit but doesn't get in the way if you put the t-tops in from the passenger side.

I did my own design probably before that came out. Plenty of bass for SQ.
When there is a stereo in, I run a tweaked home speakers. One large amp. in the center compartment for the tweaked removable rear speakers w/ 2 long throws (equil. to 2 8s) & a dome in each.

It ROCKS !
Rarely use it. The engine makes enough music for me.

It is a literal piece of crap. It's construction is poor and it sounded like POOP. The only advantage is it's design and how it lets you still store your t-tops.

I wish you would've posted this last year. I would've given you mine for the price of the shipping. I threw mine in tha garbage. NOT KIDDING.
