What is the BEST way to REMOVE the rivets from the from rotors?
Center punch each rivet in the center, start drilling with a 3/16" bit. Drill about 1/2" deep. Then move up progessively in bit sizes untill the head pops off. I usually finish removing the head with a 1/2" bit. You will likely have to use a punch to drive the rivet in.

How critical is it top replace the rivets? I am planning doing my brakes this weekend but was planning on leaving them out.

You don't need to replace the rivets. Put a mark on the rotor relative to the hub and reassemble.

I personally would not spend my money on these.
I would buy:
Raybestos PGPlus for $23 - Raybestos BruteStop for $52.
You can find these prices online - plus shipping.
I've never shopped there, but try rockauto.com for reference.

I got my rotors in monday. They look great. I only paid $50 each including shipping. If the are as mechanicly sound as they are eye catching , can't beat.

The rotors were riveted to the hub (and rear spindle too) at the factory and "turned" as a unit to remove runout.

If you replace the rotors, there's no guarantee that you won't have runout, causing air pumping into the calipers, and progressive spongy braking. Use a dial indicator to check the runout, or you can buy O ring or Zero Tolerance caliper kits.

You can also try to shim the rotor to remove runout. This is how brake problems begin for many owners, and lead to many posts about "loss of brakes" or "spongy brakes". Chuck

Excellent points that I should have included.
