In the past I've told you my car has set off car alarms. Men and boys gawk, women and little girls get scared when I start it in a parking lot
Here's 2 more: last night a lady at phone booth frantically looking around for the monster she thinks is about to bite her (from the look on her face) when I started the car.
This morning a toll booth worker plugged her ears with her fingers as I COASTED into the lane. I'm assuming she was getting ready for my departure
Last week,a guy I work with heard me leaving all the way across our college campus and tells me so over our 2 way radios. I was 1/2 mile away at an intersection and I say over the radio" listen to this". I un-key the radio mic and rev the motor a few times. He radios me back laughing like crazy saying " You'd better get cutouts better mufflers for the street!"
How loud is too loud? after all the alarms, etc are going off...
Seriously, the only time I ever thought mine was too loud was before I put my spiral baffles in the pipes. Open headers was a bit too loud for the street.
You aren't even close to half the noise that I'm making...
That is true Olivier, but this my car is the 2nd loudest I've heard next to yours. You can't even drive your car to work in the morning without getting arrested! You car doesn't count. It sounds like cage full of firecrackers going off.
I could barely hear the Harley next to me this morning. I know, in your car you CAN'T hear the Harley!
I wish that there would be mufflers that wouldn't cause backpressure and horsepower loss...
I'll one up you on that, they're called turbochargers
Just this morning one of my coworkers told me he could hear me coming from Apex (maybe not, that's 20+ miles away) That across campus call is a good one!
I set off my first car alarms when I added Ecklers' "Targa" non-mufflers on the otherwise stock exhaust. Now the air travels through a 750 BG, Performer, Sportsman 2s, 9.5 CR cylinders, back out Sportsman 2s, Hookers, custom 2.5" pipes, and Flowmaster 50s with the sole purpose of rattling the hell out of every alarm-equipped car in the parking lot.
in the same boat here ( no pun intended), I love the look I have with no mufflers showing but way too loud (and I am running mufflers)... i'm going to try Flowmaster's Deltaflow muffler... Anyone got a set on there's???
